Mepitel is a gentle, flexible wound contact layer designed to protect the wound bed while allowing exudate to pass into a secondary absorbent dressing. It is commonly used for skin tears, burns, ulcers, surgical wounds and radiation-damaged skin.

Its open mesh design and soft silicone Safetac® technology help reduce pain and trauma during dressing changes.

Both dressings use Safetac® soft silicone to minimise trauma, but they differ in structure:

• Mepitel — A two-sided silicone wound contact layer that can stay in place for up to 14 days, ideal for a wide range of chronic and acute wounds.
• Mepitel One — Features a one-sided adhesive surface for easier handling and repositioning, making it suitable for wounds requiring frequent assessment.

The right choice depends on application needs, wound type and frequency of dressing changes.
